Hands-On STEM for Real-World Impact

RESTEM Labs is an Ed-Tech startup in East Africa expanding STEM to include Research and Environmental education. Since 2016, we’ve built labs, trained teachers, run programs, and provided DIY kits and virtual learning to bridge education gaps. We empower youth with coding, prototyping, and problem-solving skills, while promoting girls in STEM and fostering leadership. Through school and community partnerships, we’re shaping confident learners and future innovators.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Founded in 2016

RESTEM Labs was established with the mission to bridge the STEM gap in East Africa.

Pilot Labs Launched

Pilot Labs launched successfully in:
– Mogadishu
– Bosaso
– Garowe
– Jigjiga

Curriculum Structure

– Class-Based Courses: Grades 3 to 12
– Level-Based Courses: From Beginner to Advanced, tailored to all learners.

Strategic Partnership

Partnered with Mire International School in 2018, leading to significant achievements:
– Best School Using Technology Award

Chandigarh, India, selected from 9,673
nominations across 43 countries.

The Problem We Address

Despite growing young demographics and tech interest in Somalia, major
gaps persist:

Limited access to quality STEM education across Somalia.
Lack of practical tools and labs for hands-on learning.
Shortage of qualified educators and STEM-specific teacher
training.
Absence of local STEM kits and resources, hindering independent
learning.
